Elizabeth (Betty) McMahan Page, age 97, artist, died at Trezevant Manor on June 22, 2013. The widow of Carlisle S. Page Jr., she was a native Memphian and wife for over 60 years, living in Central Gardens mid-town.

She attended Idlewild School, Miss Hutchison, and Southwestern (Rhodes) where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Her studies continued with art training at the Memphis Art Academy, University of Memphis, and with further training from Paul Penzer, Jason Williamson, Fred Robinson, Stefan Kramer (Amarillo, Texas), Harris Sorrelle (wire sculpture), and John McIntyre (sculptor).

She loved all things artistic including antiques, remodeling her mid-town home, restoring old furniture, chests, trunks, and doors.

Betty was a member of many organizations; among them were The University Club, Les Passees, Fine Arts Club, Tuesday Study Club, Arawata Garden Club, Le Bonheur, Woman's Exchange, Germantown Art League, and Artists Ltd. She and her husband were among the founding members of Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Midtown and were members there for over 60 years.

She leaves her son Carlisle S. Page III (Meredith) of Memphis, a daughter Betsy Martin (Charlie) of Germantown; three grandchildren, Katharine Faucett (Brett) of Atlanta, William Martin (Ashley) of Memphis, Chad Martin (Colleen) of Knoxville and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - Noon, Tuesday, June 25, in The Lord's Chapel at Elmwood Cemetery. The funeral service will begin at Noon in The Lord's Chapel with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Elmwood Cemetery, Grace-St. Luke's Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
