Frances Hanover, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died Friday, July 13th in Fairfield, NJ. She was 94 years old. Her husband, Sam Hanover, preceded her in death. Born and raised in Memphis, she was the last survivor of six sisters and one brother, and was the daughter of Nathan and Sara Tenenbaum.

Frances was a very active member of Anshei-Sphard Beth El Emeth Synagogue, having joined in 1950. She was a two-term president of the Sisterhood, and volunteered over 50 years for various Sisterhood and Synagogue events.

Known as "Foo-Foo" to her many nieces and nephews, nothing was more important to Frances than her family and friends. The bond she had with her sisters and brother was truly special, and one that was never broken.

Frances moved to New Jersey over 4 years ago to be closer to her daughter, Esther Sue, son-in-law, Harry, and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Elliot, and Shai Kartus. In addition, sixteen nieces and nephews survive her.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, July 15 in The Katzman Memorial Chapel with burial in Anshei-Sphard Cemetery on Airways. Donations to ASBEE Synagogue, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
