Harold Kaufman (Hal), retired U.S. Navy, born March 4, 1933, died Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 at his home.

Hal loved life, family and friends to the fullest. He never met a stranger and was the first to reach into his pocket to help others. He was fascinated with everything Fed Ex and the moon. He was an avid Tiger Fan. He was an accomplished golfer and was a drummer with the Bartlett Community Band. He was a member of Al Chymia Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Francine Kaufman, his sister, Zelda Magdule, (Labe), and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Dorothy B. Kaufman.

He also leaves his children; Marty Kaufman, Herbert Kaufman (Renee), Natalie Lefkowitz (Ron), Mindy Smith (Wade), Dana Lawson (Tom), and Jennifer Lara (Paul); and His Grandchildren; Ira Katzman (Casey Lefurge), Michael Katzman (Sherene), Kegan Butler (Jordan Smallwood), Logan Kaufman, Erin Smith, Ben Kaufman, Alex Kaufman, Maisie Rubin (Adam), Robbie Hernandez, Jessica Lawson, Anna Lawson, and Olive Lara.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. today, Thursday, May 30th at Baron Hirsch Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
