Heart Emblem

Patricia Ann McAvoy Moran, 74, of Memphis, passed away on July 2, 2013, following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles J. & Mary Louise McAvoy. Pat grew up in Memphis, attending Immaculate Conception High School and Webster College. Pat was the registrar at Christian Brothers High School for 18 years.

Affectionately known as "Meme" to her grandchildren, Pat spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren compete in sports on the field or in the gym. She was an accomplished artist and recognized locally for her talent. Her grandchildren spent hours in her art studio trying to replicate her work.

Once Pat's illness was diagnosed, she knew life had changed but she never complained. We will forever miss Meme's hand-painted Christmas cards, her love for hummingbirds, and the ease at which she made each grandchild feel unique and special. We will forever be grateful that she was our Meme.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Jack Moran, along with 3 children Jack (Christy) Moran, Jr., Tim (Natalie) Moran & Cathy (Michael) Bennett, along with 9 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m., Monday, July 8, at Canale Funeral Directors, followed by a rosary. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 9, at St. Louis Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests any memorials be sent to Christian Brothers High School, Pat Moran Scholarship Fund, 5900 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38120.
