Frank Arthur Coyle, Jr. born January 14, 1941 in Memphis, TN, died March 14, 2013 in Memphis, TN.

He was a Southern intellectual, football player, psychologist, and believer in social justice, a devoted son, loving husband, caring father and good friend. He was a member of the Order of the Stars and Bars, ACLU, NRA, and APA, among others and a lifelong Episcopalian.

1958 graduate of Millington Central High (TN). Attended Tulane University; transferred to Southwestern at Memphis and graduated Class of 1962. Was recruited for Canadian Football Leagues but instead attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln and then University of Alabama -Tuscaloosa for graduate studies in psychology. He earned Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Memphis and taught in several universities and Memphis City Schools. He served as an independent psychologist, Director of the Employment Training Center (IL) and psychological examiner for the State of Tennessee.

He leaves behind wife Alice M. Coyle of Memphis, daughter and son-in-law Cathleen Coyle Randall and Brendan W. Randall of Boston, MA, cousins Elizabeth Tucker Goforth of Millington, TN, Pamela Oglesby of Laurel, MS, and Lee Tucker of Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father Frank A. Coyle and mother Letitia Ruth Williams Coyle of Rembert Springs, TN. He was faithfully cared for by Evangeline Ruffin and by the Glenmary at Evergreen community. He will be missed by many.

Visitation will be 5:00- 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 19 at Canale Funeral Directors (2700 Union Avenue Extended). Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Grace St. Luke's Episcopal Church, . Interment will be at Ward Memorial Cemetery.

Floral tributes, contributions to Rhodes College, and donations to charities are welcome.
