Juanita C Gainer

Juanita C. Gainer, 90, of Germantown, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, after a brief illness. William D. (Jake) Gainer, her loving husband of 63 years, was at her bedside. Juanita was born December 8, 1921, in Charleston, West Virginia. During World War II she served as a surgical technician with the Women's Army Corps (WACS). After their marriage on March 27, 1948, she and Jake made their home in Charleston, WV, Peoria, IL, Memphis, and Dallas, as Jake was promoted with his work, before returning to the Memphis area to retire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter C. and Lena Clarkson, brothers Walter Clarkson and Robert Clarkson, and sisters Louise Peters and Gail Funderburk, all of Charleston, WV. She is survived by her husband, William D. (Jake) Gainer, of Germantown, TN, her sister-in-law, Mary Clarkson, of Charleston, WV, and many nieces and nephews. Juanita was a gracious, kind, and loving Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Farmington Presbyterian Church, 8245 Farmington Blvd., Germantown, TN 38139. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with services to follow at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Roger Graf officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Farmington Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
