Marguerite Piazza

My mother Lucile Blum was a dear friend of Marguerite Piazza. Marguerite sang at many occasions in New Orleans as a friend of mothers. The last time was at Antoines Restaurant at my mother's 100th birthday. As a family we all loved Marguerite and treasured the special times we had the opportunity to be with her and hear her remarkable voice. She was a treasure that will be missed by many.

I am so saddened by Marguerite's dath. I accompanied her on the piano many times over the years, and sang with her in the Memphis Open Air Theater in several productions. She and Harry were dear friends for so long. I served on the board of directors for the Mmphis Symphony, the Memphis Chamber Music Society, and the Memphis Opera Theater.

There are not words to express how sad I am to hear about the passing of the ever so incredible Marguerite, Sr. It is an honor to have known her and to have worked with her. She was a huge talent, a true perfectionist, a hard worker, a generous performer, and most of all a great human being. I send much love to you.

I have so many fond memories of hanging out in your kitchen and listening to her colorful stories, sampling her wonderful food, and getting many tips on proper etiquette! It brings a smile to my face thinking about the 'dueling hog-heads' in our fridges, waiting to be boiled into cheese. She will be greatly missed. I hope that in your grief you can take

Your mom was a great friend of our mother Patsy Mayer. I have wonderful memories of Central Avenue and listening to your Mom sing in the house in the back of the property. Your Mom always remembered me by name whenever I ran in to her. I am sorry for your loss but she is now up there with my Mom and is probably catching everyone up in heaven on her family and how wonderful you all are.
