Sylvia Abraham Beck

Sylvia Abraham Beck, 88, a lifelong Memphian, passed away on Tuesday, February 7th after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her mother Rosa Weisberger Abraham, her father Sam Abraham, her husband Benjamin Beck, and her son Tommy Beck. She was also preceded in death by her brother George G. Abraham (Ceil) and her sister Etta Gray (Bill). She is survived by her daughters Sharon Gadless (Lou), Elizabeth Farrand (Dave), Nancy Dixon (Don), all of Surprise, AZ, and Linda (Shaina) Worthman of Passaic, NJ; her brother Sidney Abraham (Shirley), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a loving, giving person who put family and friends' needs first, a volunteer in many organizations, and a supporter of many cultural, art and social service organizations. She was a longtime member of Temple Israel.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9th at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1708 Hernando Road. The family will be sitting shiva at The Glenmary, 1550 N. Parkway. The family requests donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
